vswpaper's Diaryland Diary

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Finished and sent

After much delay, my friend gave me her comments last night, and while I wasn't glad to be going through the paper at 12:30 still fixing things, I was glad to have her notes. The paper's definitely better because of her requests for elucidation in a few places. In particular, I FINALLY got the bit introducing The Waves to work. I'd never gotten it clear, but I think it is now. So I spent the day at the office mostly doing my own work (kind of excusable because I'm freelancing and so won't bill any of that time to my client), doing one final clean-up pass (along with fussing over the format). And glad I am to have done it, too, as I found a couple things I'd forgotten to resolve last night.

Thankfully, the new improved Post Office is actually trying to serve people in a competitive market, so the local one was open until 6 and I was able to mail the hard copy as well as send the electronic version today. Which does wonders for that feeling of closure. Now begins the wait, first to confirm that my professor got it, and then for the grade. Frankly, I think it's an A, but you never know--she could really disagree with something and then I'm sunk.

It was a little anticlimactic, sitting in the office, scanning the pages a final time; and knowing that I could probably go through and do a couple more rounds of polish on it. That would be a waste of time and energy, though. The critical part was to get it done, and to get an A if at all possible, and as far as I can tell, that's taken care of. Now I need to find out about the other classes to complete my degree. Again, the anticlimactic feeling, but I am pleased to have done the thing. I didn't have too--dog knows I've not done it several times before.

For this diary, I want to write down a little about the overall experience and where I am with Virginia Woolf now. And I want to post the paper online, but it doesn't appear there's a way to do that in Diaryland. I think I'll have to make a page somewhere to hold the PDF, and then link to it. I believe that's possible through my ISP, and I hope to get it accomplished in the next few days.
